More on the Placemaking project at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt as part of the February 2009 exhibition “1989 – Global Histories”


In 2009 the Placemaking Project will present at the following locations:

Placemaking will be part of the group exhibition BERLIN 89/09 - KUNST ZWISCHEN SPURENSUCHE UND UTOPIE at the Berlinische Galerie, from 18 September 2009 to 31 January 2010. The exhibition takes stock of the fall of the wall and the consequences of this historical event for the German capital. It will be curated by Heinz Stahlhut (director of the visual arts collection) and Guido Fassbender (curator of the visual arts collection).

Placemaking will also organize guerrilla screenings in Kreuzberg, Lichtenberg, Marzahn, and Wedding, in which video and interview clips about migrant spaces return to their source. The video will be shown in its full length at the HAU2. The place and time will be announced on the Website shortly in advance.

On November 5, an exhibition featuring the Placemaking project will open at the Schering Foundation at Unter den Linden 32-34 and run from Nov. 6 to Dec. 12.
